Academic Pathways
We offer structured academic journeys from foundational diplomas to advanced doctoral studies, with flexible options for postgraduate research.
Diploma to Doctorate
National Diploma programmes extend over three years. Graduates may continue with a fourth year to obtain a Baccalaureus Technologiae (BTech) degree, or an Advanced Diploma in Agricultural Extension.
This paves the way for a Magister Technologiae (MTech) and Doctor Technologiae (DTech). The Department of Health Sciences also offers Master and Doctor of Health Sciences degrees in Biomedical Technology, Clinical Technology, and Somatology.
Postgraduate Flexibility
The faculty offers attractive opportunities for students to become involved in research programmes. While students are encouraged to register for postgraduate studies on a full-time basis after obtaining their BTech degree, part-time registration is available in selected fields of study.
Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP)
Prospective students applying for a National Diploma may be referred to an ECP, which extends the duration of the diploma by one year of full-time study. Please note: Students may not apply directly for the ECP; you must first apply for admission to the mainstream programme.
